I stopped posting links to blogs in November because the brouhaha over hosted children.
Hosting programs were almost shutdown. Some government officials believe the hosting programs were trafficking children.
Just use the phrase “trafficking children” around a Ukrainian politican and he will get twitchy. This is due to the past baby selling scandal.
They could also be twitchy because Ukraine is a well known source for human beings (modern slavery). No one likes being reminded of their problems.
Anyway back to November…..Families had blogs that contained photos of the “hosted” child. The Ukrainian government strongly disapproved… very, very strongly disapproved. Families who are trying to adopt their hosted child quickly pulled photos off their sites.
And many Ukrainian adoptive families took their blogs private. I have invitations to some private blogs… but I cannot share their information.
So there have been fewer blogs… But I rediscovered one of my favorite blogs. It is:
An Intermittent Web Log about Writing, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Autism, Adoption, Harps, and Sundry Other Topics
Steven and his wife adopted 2 boys from Ukraine in June 2005. Steven is a great story teller and a published author.
Here is his pre-adoption journal.
Here is his Ukrainian adoption journal.
And his pictures tell the adoption story too. He has pictures from Kyiv, Zhytomir and Lugini.
