Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago

There are 4 Ukrainian consulates in the United States. They all have pages on adoption and are generally the same. However it can be worth reading them all. Sometimes the information is phrased slightly different which can give you a clearer picture. Their adoption pages contain:

• a list of dossier documentions


• post adoption child registration form


• example of post adoption report


• how to renew your adopted child's passport (you really should keep it current)


• What Ukrainian Consulate your child should be registered at. There are 4; Washington DC, New York, Chicago, San Francisco

Each consulate covers different states. This page matches the state to the consulate.

State Department on Adoption and Children's Rights (SDA)

SDA is the Ukrainian government web site for the SDA (only adoption authority in Ukraine.. private adoption is illegal).

It is in Ukrainian. I can sort of reading it by translating it into Russian via Babel Fish.

Anyone have a better idea on getting a translated version of the web site? I know the Russian and British flags on the top of the page don't switch languages. Maybe that is a future enhancement.
