The rumor part... Staff are working in the SDA. They aren't accepting new dossiers or any updates to dossiers. They are accepting letters from registered parents who are asking for an appointment date. And various people's agencies or faciliators are becoming more certain that the SDA will start sending out appointment letters in early July.
For anyone tracking Ukrainian holidays... The next one is June 28; Ukrainian Constitution Day. August 24 is Ukraine's Independence Day. The US Embassy in Kyiv has all the various holidays
here.
I am
volunteer coordinator for my daughter's Ukrainian orphanage for
Life2Orphans. I mentioned that I am working on fund raising for a
new verdana for Green Forest orphanage.
Another project that I am working on involves shoes.
Buckner Orphan Care International is launching its eighth year of giving new shoes to children worldwide through its annual Shoes for Orphan Souls campaign.

Buckner raised the shoes and now I just have to get them to Ukraine. I need to find $165 to ship the shoes. If I get some extra money then I will ship socks too.
Green Forest Orphanage currently has 112 kiddos and I am trying to get everyone a pair of new shoes. Actually the children won't own the shoes. The orphanage will own the shoes and reuse them until they are worn out and fall to pieces.
For anyone who is interested in the US Peace Corp in Ukraine......
Friends of Ukraine Peace Corps is an email list to discuss Peace Corp past and future projects. And now there are 62 brand new Peace Corps volunteers starting their work in Ukraine.
May 26, 2006
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports, in 2005 the Ukrainian government addressed the Peace Corps to attract volunteers to a project of youth development and received a positive response.
The volunteers will work in schools and youth organizations in towns and villages to promote healthy lifestyles, public activities, and ecological knowledge and to develop computer literacy and entrepreneur skills. Besides the youth project, volunteers will also implement a project of economic development of communities.
