A person named Nat, posted a translation of
SDA's recent announcement. I believe this announcement was posted on the SDA's (
Ukrainian adoption authority) office wall.
The SDA asked for (according to article 252 of CPC Ukrainian law) a document that verifies a family's right to use the house. The Ukrainian government wants proof you have the legal right to live in your house.
A copy of your mortgage isn't going to cut it (
probably.. could be wrong... everyone is uncertain right now).
But if you are a renter, the lease agreement would probably work.
So what is a home owner to do? I have seen several suggestions in various places.
- Letter from the bank holding your mortgage... It would describe your mortgage payments and ownership.
SPONSOR
- Property tax statement... If you are paying taxes on a property, you own it.
- Get your local government (probably county) to write a letter stating you are the owner. This could be the folks who process property tax. They certainly know who owns housing.
- Your lien documentation. These were filed with the county court.
- Ask your real estate agent how to prove you own the house.
- Wait until the SDA states what documentation they want.
