The Conrad Family adopted 2 girls in December 2006. The girls are 4 years old and 2.5 years old. They don't mention if they are siblings or not.

While in Ukraine they ran into another family who is adopted a boy and girl; 3 years old and 2 years old.

The Conrads were in Ukraine 5.5 weeks.

And then there is Ranee's blog. She is:

30 years. mom to one. blue eyed, brown haired, fair skinned, righty. mission to adopt.

And she seems to be dealing with a Stalker. She and her husband adopted their first child from China. And now they are looking at Ukraine. She blogs about fund raising for the adoption here.

I have been following Les and Patricia's story since June 2006. They are Canadians and because of their medical system cannot adopt a child with certain medical issues. They won't be able to get a visa for the child. (Health care in Canada)

But I didn't realize that

The child must be examined by a Canadian Doctor prior to adoption being granted.

So during their December 18, 2006 appointment they had to turn down all the referrals due to medical reasons. And they were persistent about adopting a girl.

December 20, 2006 they had another appointment. They traveled to see the girl and had to turn the girl down. It was very emotional for them.

December 22, 2006 they had another appointment. They received a referral to a 2 year old girl. This turned out to be their daughter.

They have been in Ukraine for 3 weeks and 2 days. They are trying to get a court date.

Les and Patricia know the Fortini family.

The Fortini family adopted their daughter from Ukraine in April 2006 under the NAC. Jan 3, 2006 Philip Fortini died in a car accident.

It is just so sad. Having knowing the man virtually (via his wife's blog) for a while now... I feel connected to the family.

People are posted their thoughts and prayers for the Fortini family on this blog entry.
